My full name is Dominique Haingotiana Spirig, but artistically I’m known as Haingotiana, an exotic name reflecting my origins from Madagascar. Swiss-born and having grown up in Ticino, the Italian-speaking part of the country, I now live in Basel with my husband and daughter.

From an early age, I have always been fascinated by the piano, with its majestic elegance, sovereign personality, unique sonority, and an unparalleled ability to express a myriad of emotions. By the tender age of six, I embarked on formal lessons, igniting a passion for the instrument that has only flourished over time. After 15 years of classical music training including Mozart, Beethoven and Chopin, my interests turned towards a contemporary classical / new age piano style, inspired by the likes of Yiruma and Ludovico Einaudi.

“Awakening”, my inaugural composition as an adult, served as a catalyst for unleashing my latent creative power, paving the way for a collection of eight pieces featured on my debut album “REFLECTIONS” (2017). This was followed by the second album “IMPRESSIONS” (2020) and, most recently, “CONNECTIONS” (2022), my third album “CONNECTIONS”, which explores deeper dimensions of a self-discovery journey. 

To me, music transcends cultural and linguistic boundaries, serving as a universal language that speaks directly to the heart, connecting people, connecting emotions, and connecting us with our Inner Self and the Universe. Writing and playing my compositions is a means of expressing my thoughts, feelings, and emotions in a way that words could never describe. It is the unheard voice from the depths of the heart and soul brought to life through the dance of my fingers across the ebony and ivory keys. 

In the act of creating and performing, I find myself immersed in a state of profound mindfulness, where body, mind and soul become one single entity. It is from this surreal space that an almost poignant urge arises—to express and share my music with other people, to touch their hearts, and to invite them on a transformative journey  into the soul. For me, this is the ultimate personal fulfillment of creating music.
